Crafts on the harbour

Crafts on the harbour
– Craft fair on the pier on Carlingford, hosting some of Irelands finest craft workers, displaying a selection of jewellery, wood, linen, pottery and patch work. Every Sunday during the season.

Tain Walk In the footsteps of Cuchulainn
Tain Walk In the footsteps of Cuchulainn
– The cattle raid of Cooley is the National Epic of Ireland. It tells the story of Queen Medbh's attempts to capture the fabulous Brown Bull of Cooley. An army of walkers will follow the route taken by Medbh and her armies in their pursuit of the Brown Bull. Starting at Medgh's fortress in Rathcroghan, Co. Roscommon and concluding in the Cooley Peninsula.
The Tain Celtic Festival

The Tain Celtic Festival
– Venues around the Peninsula 3 day long festival exploring and celebrating the Cooley Peninsula's close links with the story of Tain Bo Cuailgne. Various cultural events will take place around the peninsula, including a Celtic style banquet.

Endurance Challenge


Carlingford Lough Endurance Challenge
– 3 person team endurance event- Mountain biking, sea canoeing and road and mountain running.

Whitestown Festival

Whitestown Festival
– Weekend event centred around Lilly Finnegan's pub, 3 miles south of Carlingford. Live music, bouncy castles, bungee run, crazy football, food and sweet stalls with 3 bars on site.

Cooley Vintage Festival
Cooley Vintage Festival
– The biggest and best working vintage show in Ireland. Attractions include steam ploughing, corn reaping, steam threshing, horse ploughing, vintage machinery, vintage cars, donkey derby, dog agility, displays, grand parade in the festival fiel, festival dance with live music. Superb entertainment for all ages.

Medieval Fair

Medieval Fair
– One day festival celebrating Carlingford's medieval heritage Costumed fletchers, weavers, fire-eaters, jugglers, stilt walkers, mounted games, archers, falconry display and banquet.

Carlingford Lough Golf


Carlingford Lough Golf Classic
– 3 day event. Venue varies between Greenore, Warrenpoint and Kilkeel

Poc Fada


Poc Fada
– Annual event based on ancient Celtic sport – hitting a ball across the Cooley Mountains.

Maidens of Mourne Festival – In conjunction with Warrenpoint Maidens of Mourne pageant and festivals.
